The current public experience is safe to demonstrate without processing payments. The underlying live flow stays available for an approved future payment provider.

From acquisition to live checkout.

Credentials are never embedded in the repository. The new owner supplies approved accounts and follows this deployment sequence.

  1. 01

    Take ownership of data

    Provision Neon, set DATABASE_URL, then run the included SQL migrations. Demo mode does not write to production tables.

  2. 02

    Add private credentials

    Configure POLAR_ACCESS_TOKEN, POLAR_PRODUCT_ID, POLAR_WEBHOOK_SECRET, RESEND_API_KEY and the application secrets in Vercel.

  3. 03

    Verify fulfillment

    Point the approved provider webhook to /api/webhooks/polar, run a low-value test and confirm the listing, activity and email flows.

  4. 04

    Enable commerce

    Set NEXT_PUBLIC_SALE_DEMO_MODE=false and NEXT_PUBLIC_PAYMENTS_ENABLED=true, redeploy, then complete an end-to-end production check.

Payments are disconnected publicly

The checkout API returns a safe unavailable response while sale-demo mode is active. No visitor can create a charge from the current UI.

Easy diligence

Clear route structure, typed data contracts, focused integrations and automated checks make the codebase straightforward to review.

Provider-swappable

The ranking and fulfillment model is separate from the hosted checkout. A buyer can retain Polar if approved or replace the adapter.
